Where is Barina?
How far is Barina from the lifts?
  • About 500 metres and you can ski or walk from the front door
How do I get to there?
  • If you are coming from Sydney
    • Travel to Canberra (about 3 hours)
    • Continue through Cooma to Jindabyne (2½ hours)
  • After Jindabyne
    • Take the road signposted to
    • Skitube logo

    • Snow chains are not required
    • Parking is free and security patrolled
    • N.B. There is no overnight parking at Perisher
  • The Skitube runs 24 hours
    • A train leaves about every 20 minutes
    • The journey takes about 15 minutes
  • Luggage restrictions during peak season
    • Between 8:20am - 10:00am and 3.32pm - 4:52pm
    • Rarely enforced

What train do I catch?
  • You need to be at the Skitube station by 5:00pm for dinner at 6:30pm
Can I arrive early?
  • The check-in time is 3:00pm but you can arrive from 9:00am and leave your luggage at the lodge while you go skiing
What happens if I get there late?
  • Call ahead if you are delayed or let us know if you plan to arrive late - the managers will keep some dinner for you

How do I find out about lift tickets and lessons?
  • You can organise tickets, gear hire and lessons through Perisher
What meals are provided?
  • Full breakfast

  • Afternoon tea

  • Three-course dinner see sample menu

  • Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available at all times

Is Barina licensed?
  • No, but:
    • You can buy wine and beer at the supermarket in the Skitube Terminal and keep it in one of the guest fridges
    • The pub is just down the road
Is there an Internet service available?
  • Internet may be accessed via the Wireless Broadband services of Telstra Next G, Optus and Airlan Regional
  • Airlan prepaid cards are available at the Perisher Newsagency or online at www.airlan.com.au
